Shipping & Delivery

Information of freight charges and delivery times

The following shipping information is applicable to our retail customers only. For trade shipping enquiries please email directly on hello@barnabylane.com.au 

Delivery 

We offer free, flat rate and quoted delivery services for all orders within Australia depending on our location. Delivery prices are calculated at the time of purchase and will be displayed during the checkout process. You are also welcome to arrange a pick-up of your item from our warehouse located in Truganina, Melbourne. Please drop us an email and we can make the arrangements for this.

Estimated Timing

We will always endeavour to get your items to you as quickly as possible but there are a few things that you need to be aware of:

  1. Always rely on our direct communication for the most accurate estimate on delivery time. Once you have placed your order we will be in contact with you to communicate this and make arrangements
  2. We are reliant on our vast network of drivers to get your goods to you. We only deliver with the most reputable companies that deliver with care and therefore these premium services can take a little longer. We think it’s worth it.
  3. Deliveries can take longer during peak periods these include Christmas and January when a lot of freight companies close down for the holiday period.
  4. We can at times arrange for an expedited service you will need to get in touch with us if your delivery is time critical 

If you want an approximate delivery timeframe please follow the below estimates for in stock items once an item has been shipped,

Melbourne & Sydney: 1-2 days

South Australia : 3-4 days

Tasmania : 3-4 days

Brisbane, Gold Coast & Sunshine Coast: 4-6 days

Western Australia & Northern QLD: 6-10 days

Regional areas may be an additional 2-4 days on above listed areas

Pick Up

If electing the Pick Up option at checkout, items will be made available for collection from our warehouse located in Truganina, Vic, 3029.

If electing to Pick Up, once your order has been received on our end we will reach out to you with details on when and where your item is available for collection.

Orders that are in stock and elected for Pick Up will usually be made available within 24hrs from receipt of order.

Smaller items such as cushions, will be available for collection from our showroom located in Brunswick, Vic, 3056.

Product Availability

The estimated production time for each product is clearly listed on each page. Production times are a "best estimate" and may change at any time. We will keep you updated on your order, however cannot be held liable for any unforeseen delays.

Delivery partners

We partner with many different freight companies depending on item size, availability and delivery location. We only work with reputable partners that we know and trust will handle your purchase with care. This means it can take a little longer that a courier service – but trust us it’s worth the wait! Once we have received your order and it is in stock it will then be allocated to one of our delivery partners. Our team will advise you of whom it has been booked with. All of our delivery partners will be in contact with you to make arrangements for delivery.  

It’s important to note that many different factors can take place in getting your product to you at a specific time – Sydney traffic being one of them! So please be patient with our drivers as they try their best to meet your requirements.

Receiving orders

Ideally someone should be home to receive your goods but we do understand that you are busy people. If you would prefer to make alternative arrangements you will need to contact us to see if we can accommodate.

Door to Door

All deliveries are to your front door only. Couriers cannot assist you to carry the items upstairs, into your home or position in a room. Trust us they would love to help but they are not covered by insurances if they do so.

 

Returns

Information on our return policy and return shipping

Returns 

If you have a change of heart or the item is not as you expected, then you are welcome to return your product to us subject to the following terms:

  1. The receiver must notify Barnaby Lane within 7 days from receipt of order with an intent to return. To do this please just drop us an email on hello@barnabylane.com.au
  2. The item/s must be in all their original packing, including all box inserts and packaging, and be in new/unused condition.  We will not accept product returns without all of the original packaging 
  3. All costs to return the item/s to Barnaby Lane must be paid by the recipient of the goods and will be deducted from your refund amount. Barnaby Lane will not cover any costs to return the goods to us.
  4. Where a product is within the returnable period and Barnaby Lane has approved your return we will issue a refund.
  5. Return refunds will incur a 3% restocking fee, to be deducted from the refund amount.
  6. The following item/s are non refundable and all sales are deemed final: Artworks (including framed and unframed), Sale/Seconds items, Customised items, Special order items.

Cancellations

If the order has shipped please review the returns policy above. If the order has not shipped and you seek to cancel your order please read the below terms carefully

If the item is in stock in our warehouse and has not shipped prior to your cancellation then the order can be refunded less a small administrative and re-stocking fee of 5%.

If the item is pre-order, custom or made to order the item cannot be cancelled. These items are made to order and require a 50% non refundable deposit to proceed. Cancelling a pre-order, custom or made to order will forfeit this 50% non refundable deposit. 

Damaged on arrival  

If for any reason you believe that your goods have been damaged in transit please contact us within 24hrs from receipt of goods. Please include detailed images depicting the damages including the exterior of the box/packaging.

Warranties

We pride ourselves on the quality of our items therefore if there is anything wrong with your items within the first 12 months of receipt then please get in contact with us. Our warranty is available for in the Customer Services section of this website.

Product Care

A lot of our goods are made from natural materials that require some care. Please follow product care instructions provided with your goods. In some circumstances if these are not met then the warranty will be void.

Promotions 

Promocodes or promotional codes are offered to provide a sale or discount off the product RRP. Terms and conditions apply during promotions. Only one promocode can apply per order.

Competitions

Barnaby Lane decisions on competition winners are final. Barnaby prizes are non-transferrable, non-refundable and are not able to be exchanged.

Gift Cards

Barnaby Lane gift cards purchased on the Barnaby Lane Australia website are only valid for the Australian website. Promo-codes, Sales and discounts are not applicable to the purchase of gift cards or e-vouchers. Gift cards are not redeemable for cash.

Care and maintenance information your new Barnaby Lane product

Product Care

We want our products to be with you for a very long time so please have a quick read on how to care for your Barnaby Lane pieces.

You’ve most likely come to us because we produce in leather. Leather is a natural material and every cow hide is unique to the individual. There can be blemishes, markings and imperfections within each piece of leather, which in our humble opinion only adds to the beauty of the product.

In general, to maintain leather to its best condition you need to note the following:

  1. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and or heating sources. 
  2. Do not use any acids, solvents, cleaning products, bleach, polish removers or any other chemicals
  3. We recommend only using a soft cloth and water to clean. The cloth should be damp not wet.
  4. Do not rub the leather just softly wipe
  5. Things to avoid: Red wine, oils, spillages and sticky fingers!

 

Vegetable Dye product care

Our products are tanned using a vegetable dye process, this process will provide a slight protective barrier to the leather.

To clean, please do so promptly on any spill. Use a soft cloth and water. If you need to use a mild cleaning detergent such as a baby wipe or Dettol wipe.

Be careful with new jeans on any of the light colour leathers – the dye from your jeans can leave a stain on the chairs

Product Warranty

Information on our warranty timeframes and conditions

Barnaby Lane Warranty Terms

At Barnaby Lane, we are committed to providing high-quality products.

The following outlines Barnaby Lane’s commercial guarantee agreement and should be referred to in the event that a product is considered defective or faulty.

The Customer acknowledges the provisions of any Act or law, (including but not limited to the Trade Practices Act 1974) implying terms and conditions and warranties or any other terms and conditions of warranties which might otherwise

apply to or arise out of the agreement between Barnaby Lane and the customer in

relation to the goods, are hereby expressly negated and excluded to the full extent permitted by law.

If a fault does occur within the agreed Warranty period of 12 months then Barnaby

Lane will take the corrective measures described below:

Implied Warranties:

No implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose extend beyond the term of this warranty.

Exclusions:

We exclude and will not pay for any loss, expense, or damage that may result from a defect in the furniture, other than such as is to the furniture itself. The remedies provided under this Warranty state the limit of Barnaby Lane’s responsibilities.

Suitability:

You the customer acknowledging that it has not relied upon any advice given by Barnaby Lane, its agents, servants, representatives or employees in relation to the

suitability for any purposes of the goods

Remedies:

Barnaby Lane will remedy a manufacturing defect in any of your Barnaby Lane products provided that the notice of the defect is received with the period of the term of this warranty (starting at the date of delivery).

Barnaby Lane will, at its discretion repair any goods to remedy any failure due to faulty workmanship or materials. If repair is deemed impossible, your item will be replaced with an item of the same or similar colour, design, style and quality. Due to the natural materials that we use in our products you should note that natural colour changes can occur over time and therefore a new product may not be identical in colour to an existing product. You will not be charged for repair or replacement of the product. You will not be charged freight for shipping the replacement item to your initial delivery location.

Repair or replacement of your furniture does not extend the duration of the warranty period, or begin a new warranty period. If an item cannot be repaired after a reasonable number of tries, we will issue a refund to you for the item. In case of a refund, a deduction will be made for the number of years of use taken as a percentage of the Warranty period and applied against your purchase price.

Limitations:

This Warranty applies only to the original purchase of the furniture that took delivery of the product for placement in a business location.

Improper Use:

Your products must be property stored, cleaned and maintained as per our instructions to you. Barnaby Lane will not repair or replace furniture with any nonconformities or damage caused by other than normal or proper usage or contributed to by improper storage (including uncontrolled environments such as outdoor storage), improper maintenance, incorrect installation, misuse or abuse, alterations to the product, faulty repairs made by any person other than Barnaby Lane and/or its agents or defect arising from material supplied by you, or designs or specifications stipulated by you or your agent.

Normal wear and tear:

Barnaby Lane will not repair or replace furniture that is deemed to have been damaged by normal wear and tear as deemed by Barnaby Lane or its authorized

representative.

Variations from web images, floor samples or printed literature:

Because of the custom handcrafted nature of our products and the materials used, variations can occur from piece to piece. Therefore Barnaby Lane will not repair or replace furniture because it differs slightly from web images or other published images. It is important to note that leather is a natural product and therefore variations are likely to occur.

Freight damage:

This Warranty does not cover damaged caused by freight carriers.

Caring for our products:

LEATHER//

Leathers require a regular wipe over with a clean damp cloth to remove particles, which can work in to the hide and scuff with wear. Creases, stretch marks, scars and insect bites that the animal acquired during its life are natural traits of quality leather. These are not considered defects. Shampoos or conditioners are not necessary. Please check with us before using any leather cleaners. We recommend soft cloth and water that is damp not wet.

TIMBER//

TEAK

As teak is a self oiling wood the only maintenance required is to regularly wipe timber with a clean damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Oils or other polishes are not necessary.

Oak

Our European White Oak is ethically sourced from well managed forest programs across Europe which have been certified sustainable.

Our oak is finished with a Osmo Oil, in an Oil based finish. Further coats of oil can be applied as desired.

How to make a claim:

If you believe there is a fault or defect please contact Barnaby Lane immediately at

Barnaby Lane will schedule an inspection. If a defect is confirmed, we will require proof of purchase and a reasonable amount of time to remedy the problem. You will not be charged shipping if you paid freight charges on your original order.
